On September 19, we came together to attempt the world record for the largest beach cleanup, and we couldn't have done it without you!
More than 3,000 people signed up. Gloves went on, buckets came out, the music started, and for one afternoon the sand around Lifeguard Tower 18 turned into the best party on the coast, the kind where everybody leaves with a full bag.
Four hours later: 524 pounds of trash off the beach, and a world record in the books.
It started as an idea between a handful of ocean-obsessed brands. It turned into a day none of us have stopped talking about. And we could not have done it without you.
Alongside our host brands Deep Blue, KOOK, Opolis Optics and StokedPlastics, we brought an entire community to Venice Beach for one shared goal: taking care of the ocean we all love.
By the numbers
We did not just show up. We made a dent. Together, our community pulled 524 pounds of trash off Venice Beach, including:
- 0.5 lbs of cigarette butts
- 7.5 lbs from the "danger bucket": needles, broken glass and other hazardous finds
- 61.2 lbs of metal and large items
Every last piece was counted, sorted and weighed. That is the part most cleanups skip, and it is the reason this one counts.
The community that made it happen
This day was not possible without an incredible lineup of partners. A very special shoutout to 7Seas Collective, who counted every single piece of trash collected, Love Button, who brought their spirit of community and connection to help make the day run, and The Next Fun Thing, who activated on-site as our dating sponsor.

More than one beach, one day
This was never just about one cleanup. It was about proving what is possible when a community shows up for something bigger than itself. One record down. The ocean could use a few more.
